A Review of Mellow Yellow by Lucy Morgan
A golden yellow bottle of oil is available at the Butternut Deli, known as Mellow Yellow. This rapeseed oil is so versatile and appealing that its in great demand. The oil is golden yellow with a silky smooth texture, clinging to the side of the bottle it shows signs of quality and indulgence. At room temperature it boasts a smooth and delicate flavour, with a slight nuttiness and finally a subtle peppery touch at the back of the mouth.

The oil could be taken everyday by the spoon if you are specifically taking advantage of the omega 3,6 & 9, and vitamin E content, how ever this oil can be used in your everyday culinary delights.

As mellow yellow is low in saturates (even half that of olive oil) its easy to see why it is so popular.

The oil can be used with other ingredients to produce a most delicious salad dressing, why not try it simply with local honey and mustard, drizzled over leaves, tomatoes or even chicken breast it is truly scrumptious.

Often butter is used for light frying for a more creamery finish & taste, however this can be difficult when it quickly burns over a high temperature, similarly olive oil is not suitable for high temperature frying. This is where Mellow Yellow differs, its so versatile that it provides great taste, colour & a medium which cooks at whatever heat you choose, so if you want a crisp finish go for it!

Whether its roast chicken or crispy roast potatoes the oil compliments both providing a golden finish with a subtle flavour which is so distinguishable from sunflower or vegetable oil.

This oil is produced in Northamptonshire, in Great Britain which makes it all the better, accompanied by a Gold Taste Award its an oil which really stands out amongst others.
