The Best Roast Dinner
Longs Arms, South Wraxall.
BEST ROAST DINNER !
I love my food, and can be quite fussy when it comes down to paying some one else to cook my meals. However one place where I would’nt hesitate handing my money other to, is the Longs Arms, South Wraxall, especially for roast dinner!
I ve had quite a few roast dinners in my time, and mum’s are always the best, but when it comes down to finding one your willing to pay for it can be quite hard. Jackie (pub landlady) certainly has the magic touch when it comes to dishing up a heart warming, locally produced & tasty dinner, she certainly does’nt skimp on quality, portions, & source.
The Longs Arms is one of few pubs that really do practice what they preach. Jackie religiously buys in best quality meat from local farms, and it tastes great! The meat is cooked to perfection and the portion is plenty (make sure your hungry!) to accompany the gorgeous, generous stack of meat is a deliciously think & tasty gravy, varying depending on what your choice is.
Each meal is accompanied usually by roast onion, parsnips, roasters & a homemade Yorkshire pud ! but that’s not all, theres also a selection of about 4 seasonal vegetables. The dinner really could’nt get much better, but if you have a sweet tooth and consider a sweet, it surely can. Fruit pavlova is one not to miss, served with Ivy House double cream (more like clotted cream, with how its sits on the meringue).
Jackie, Bob and staff really do put a special touch to a rural experience, from a well presented traditional pub, nibbles on the bar to some great menu choices, not forgetting the legendary roast dinner.
