Our Products
Cakes & Savouries
There is always a selection of home baked cakes. Anything from the original brownies to fresh lemon zest cake, and don’t forget the Gluten Free range! Specials at lunch include the oven baked pizza, smoky bacon quiche and savoury tartlets.
Bread
Fresh bread is sourced from a well established Bristol Bakery, Herbert’s. On a Saturday there can be up to 15 different varieties of bread. Choose from the most popular three seeded loaves to some thing a little different like tuscan green olive, sundried tomato & pumpkin seed, or Durban which has sweet peppers, garlic & herb.
Wheat free alternatives are also available such as sour dough, dark rye & pumpernickel.
Croissants and Pastries
A new addition to Saturday mornings is freshly baked croissants & pastries from a little known French patisserie. Arnaud hand makes the best French croissants with only the finest ingredients.
Mediterranean
The table in the shop window is almost bowing under the weight of glossy fresh olives. There is usually a variety of six different olives available, plus more in little jars suitable for storage or as a gift.
A great range of olive oils is available, perfect for dipping, marinating, as a dressing or for cooking.
If your planning an evening with friends you will always find a superb selection of antipasti from stuffed hot peppers, tomorosso tomatoes, vine leaves to marinated anchovies & greek salad.
Local Produce
We really enjoy selling the best products and the closer to home we can source them the better.
We stock tasty pickles, chutneys & jams made just up the road to Somerset apple juice, handmade chocolates and biscuits from Teoni’s.
Often you will find fresh seasonal produce such as squashes, pumpkins, lettuce, apples and tomatoes.
Honey
We are very proud and privileged; to be able to offer our customers the opportunity to buy a selection of locally produced honey, from Bristol & Somerset.
You can choose from runny, set or chunks of comb. If you prefer a strong tasting honey which is dark in colour and rich in flavour you may want to look at the pure heather honey. We also offer varieties of manuka honey from New Zealand .
Wholefoods & other foods
We also stock a variety of organic & non organic wholefoods from fruit to cereals. If your making your own special dish we also sell a variety of dried herbs and spices, saffron, vegetable stock, pulses and tomatoes.
Coffee
We sell a wide variety of ground and whole coffee beans from Tradecraft, Equal Exchange, Cafe Direct & Bristol's own coffee company Brian Wogan.
Brians Wogan's coffee beans are roasted and ground not more than 2 miles away from the Butternut Deli. This well established family grown business prides its self in quality and variety, producing swiss water decaf coffee, fair trade & organic products.
